L’Azienda fu fondata nel 1897 da Caterino Tono che costruì una fabbrica per la produzione di zoccoli e forme per scarpe in Este ( PD), in Via Molini, 10. Dopo la sua morte la ditta venne ereditata dal Nobile Dondi Dell’Orologio, che la diresse dal 1920 al 1940.
Durante i primi anni di attività, la ditta sviluppò una produzione artigianale di forme in legno per calzature.
Nei primi anni ’40 essa fu rilevata da Carlo Benetti, un tecnico interessato al settore calzatura. Egli rappresenta la prima generazione della Famiglia Benetti impegnata nella direzione dell’Azienda.
Negli anni ’50 Carlo Benetti introdusse i primi torni meccanici di fabbricazione tedesca nella produzione delle forme: tale innovazione rappresentò la trasformazione da attività artigianale a lavorazione in serie. Il formicidio Italo divenne la prima industria italiana nella produzione di forme mediante un procedimento di montaggio per le fabbricazioni di massa in un impianto di vaste dimensioni.

La seconda generazione della Famiglia Benetti è rappresentata dai fratelli GIOVANNI e STEFANO, che introdussero l’utilizzo di materiali plastici per la realizzazione delle forme e determinarono una notevole innovazione tecnologica nel processo produttivo.
L’Azienda, da anni al servizio delle più prestigiose case di produzione di calzature, è riuscita a guadagnare fiducia e credibilità ottenendo sempre più la stima dei sui clienti offrendo un servizio celere e di qualità intesa come utilizzo razionale ed ottimizzato delle risorse aziendali.
Negli ultimi quindici anni i fratelli Benetti hanno riorganizzato l’intera struttura, trasformando Italo Srl in un gruppo formato da dieci Aziende situate nelle regioni italiane dove sono storicamente presenti i più grossi e prestigiosi complessi calzaturieri. Grazie a questa nuova struttura ITALO GROUP è perfettamente in grado di perseguire gli obiettivi aziendali, primo dei quali la piene soddisfazione delle esigenze del cliente. Ciò avviene sia per mezzo del miglioramento continuo delle prestazioni dei prodotti realizzati, sia per la costante relazione con il cliente che garantisce un continuo supporto postvendita e soluzioni ad ogni problema tecnico.
Grazie a ciò, Italo Group è divenuto uno dei leader del mercato nazionale e di quello internazionale occupando una posizione di vertice nella produzione di forme per calzature.

Oggi l’Azienda in continua evoluzione, con la nuova generazione imprenditoriale, intende scommettere in una nuova veste organizzativa, con radici piantate nel passato ma con idee ad ampio respiro per il futuro.
Essa ha prestato la propria esperienza accumulata in oltre cent’anni di attività per la realizzazione del primo prototipo al mondo in grado di realizzare e modificare mediante CAD-CAM un prodotto finito.

The company was established in 1897 by Caterino Tono who built a factory for the production of clogs and shoe last in Este (PD), Via Molini, 10. After his death the company was inherited by the Nobleman Mr Dondi Dell’Orologio who managed it between 1920 and 1940.
During the first years of its activity, the company developed a handicraft activity of production of wooden lasts for shoe manufacturing.
In the fist 40 years of ’90s the firm was taken over by Mr Carlo Benetti who was a technician operating in the footwear sector. Mr Carlo represent the first generation of Benedetti Family engaged in the managing of the company. In the ’50x Mr Benedetti introduced the first turner machinery in the lasts production process: this innovation represented the change from handicraft to the indutrial process.
Italo last factory begun the first Italian company producing lasts with an assembly line for bulk production in a wide dimension plant.

The second generation of Benetti Family is represented by brothers GIOVANNI and STEFANO who introduced the use of a plastic materials in lat production with a deep change in the tecnology of product process.
The factory, for years in service with the most prestigiouscompanies of shoe production, has tried to get confidence and credibility achieving the esteem of its customers more and more, offering a fast and quality service aimed at rational an optimum use of company resource.
In the last fifteen years Benetti’s brothers have re-organised the whole company structure, changing Italo Srl into a group made of ten factories located in Italian region where there are the most prestigious and biggest shoe companies sinc a lot of time.
Thanks to this new structure, ITALO GROUP is perfectly able to achieve its own aims, first of all the whole satisfaction of customers requirements. This happens thanks to the continuos improvement of realised products performance and costant relationship with the customers that guarantees post-sale help and solution for every kind of technical problem.
So, Italo Group is one of the leaders in national and international market holding a top position in shoe last production.

Nowdays, company in continual evolution, with the enterprising generation, wants to bet in on innovative organizing ability, with past roots but with ideas turn to the future.
It has used the experience accumulated through the years for the realization of the first prototype in the world which is able to realize and to change, through CAD-CAM, a finished product.
